Chris Bean
With over 30 years’ experience, Chris brings knowledge and understanding to his role as Director and has been pivotal in making Walsh what it is today. He remains passionate about structural and civil engineering bringing financial, contractual and technical knowledge to his role as a Director for many high profile projects. Chris specialises in refurbishment and relishes the challenge of restoring structures to their former glory. He also has a natural ability to manage large groups and liaise with clients effectively, allowing everyone’s views, concerns and ideas to be considered throughout each project.
With a unique approachable intelligence, Chris is popular among clients. Many comment that he exhibits a quiet confidence at meetings and that he remains diligent and committed at all times. He puts these qualities to further good use by helping to develop the Walsh graduate recruitment scheme and the professional development system. These programmes thrive as a result of Chris’s enthusiasm and personal input. Another passion of Chris’s came into play when he directed the Hartley’s Jam factory refurbishment. An ideal blend of new build and existing, this project was complex to coordinate and relied upon a fully collaborative team. Chris orchestrated this setup perfectly, with a proud project team and a striking finished build at the end of the job.
“Engineering has proven to be my perfect mix of science, art and technical skill.”
