Meet the Walsh team

Kate Mackay

Since joining Walsh over six years ago, New Zealander Kate’s career has gone from strength to strength, putting her unique experience to work on a number of high-profile projects across various sectors. Now an Infrastructure Associate and specialist in flood risk and sustainable drainage design, she continues to impress clients with her sound, innovative advice.

With particular expertise in water resources and strong technical writing skills, Kate leads teams to deliver key civil design aspects of residential and infrastructure projects including flood risk and environmental impact assessment reports, sustainable drainage and hard landscaping.

And she relishes the challenge of a complex project or difficult site. Her most notable to date being at Kew Bridge Gate, a stadium with 11 residential towers spread over four sites next to railway lines. Here she was responsible for coordinating a diverse range of stakeholders including clients, consultants, service providers and contractors to achieve a successful outcome for everyone involved.

A keen sportswoman, Kate has proven herself to be popular member of the Walsh team too, by taking on the responsibility for organising numerous social and sporting events for staff across the business.

“I enjoy the challenging, varied work and the opportunity to design sustainable solutions for the built environment. It’s why I chose to be an engineer and the reason I’m proud of what I do.”
