Meet the Walsh team

Niall McFadden

Niall began his ascent through the Walsh ranks in 2011, having left Dublin to pursue bigger builds in London. With experience that is richly diverse, Niall is reassuringly confident, having worked with virtually all types of construction materials such as concrete, steel, timber and masonry. He has also been involved in projects of all sizes from large concrete frames to small house extensions and steel frames. Aside from this broad expertise, Niall is a specialist in restoration and renovation and has additional civil drainage design experience. As a project manager, Niall excels in the challenging role of co-ordinator, working alongside engineers and the drafting department as well as maintaining healthy client connections. Clients and colleagues alike have commented on Niall’s easy-going nature that allows for the smooth running of his jobs from start to finish. Add to this his responsive attitude and an ability to solve problems willingly and it is easy to understand why Niall is requested for projects time and again.

Niall has an enthusiasm and passion for learning, which is regularly satisfied by the challenging and rewarding projects he works on at Walsh. One such project was Charente Hall. This involved refurbishment to an existing oak frame building and incorporated a new build steel portal frame with basement to mimic the existing building. Niall not only enjoyed the creative side of this project but also the logistical aspect, liaising with clients and inspiring fellow design team members.

“Growing up, I always liked the creative side of building design but I also enjoy maths, so I think Structural Engineering has the perfect balance.”
