This mixed-use seven-acre development in East London incorporated our expertise in high-rise structures and design skills in reinforced concrete.

Walsh provided structural and civil services North East and South East blocks of this prestigious development. Both building incorporate large open commercial spaces at ground floor level and a complex system of car parking and circulation in the basement. Transfer structure at the lower levels have enabled an efficient and economic layout to th residential units above.

On our initial assessment we discovered significant ground obstructions across the site in the form of under-reamed piles from previous buildings. Using detailed design we were able to develop an innovative foundation solution. We utilised new piles, which accounted for the positions of the existing piles but with flexibility built into the design. This allowed us to account for tolerances on the setting out.

This project had a tight timescale with phasing a key issue for our client. We therefore carefully managed our production information programme to suit the construction programme and enable the client to stay on course for completion.
