Millbrook Park, London

Infrastructure

Set in a desirable area of North London on land once owned by the army, this site provided unique challenges and required an overall value engineering exercise to achieve the outcome of a residential development.

Countryside Properties called on Walsh to help them find a structural and civil solution to their challenge of developing 150 townhouses and apartments at a demanding location (Millbrook Park). The site was confined with a heavy slope running across it. As well as this, the architectural plans were particularly ambitious and the deadlines were tight. With our capabilities in SUDS, Infrastructure and Masterplanning, we were well suited to handle this project.

In order to supply a cost effective solution and deliver on time, we value engineered the foundations to remove the piling element of the build. We examined the soil structure and suggested the cut and fill of earthworks to minimise soil export. We used detailed design to develop bespoke retaining wall elements to assist in construction, drawing on our expertise in reinforced concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry. We also sought Section 104 approvals quickly and efficiently.

We were able to make savings for the client and help them achieve this development without delay.
