Sustainable Drainage


Walsh are proud of our expertise in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). This has always been an area that has greatly interested us and we even helped pioneer one of the earliest examples of a modern SUDS systems, which was later used by CIRIA as an industry case study.

Walsh are able to offer the full breadth of sustainable drainage services including flood risk assessments and drainage impact assessments. We also have in-house drainage and simulation modellers who can undertake complex simulation analysis to provide simple SUDS solutions.

In our experience we have found that the earlier SUDS systems are integrated into a design the better. Not only are they more cost effective and environmentally friendly at this stage, but they are also more likely to meet the strict requirements of the environmental authorities. We can engage with these authorities on SUDS matters at the beginning to ensure a smooth running of the entire process for our clients.
